Appointments
Our promise to you is that we will:
- offer same day appointments and home visits where appropriate
- aim to offer timely pre-bookable appointments to meet your needs
- try to provide the best, flexible service for you and your family
All patients are seen by appointment within the times shown. Appointments may be made in person, or by telephoning the surgery between 8.00am and 6.30pm each week day. Appointments can be made up to a week in advance - if you would like to see a particular doctor, please ask the receptionist for advice on booking a routine appointment.
If we have your mobile telephone number you will receive a text to remind you the day before your appointment.
Please let us know if you do not wish to receive this reminder. It is also important to let us know if you have changed your mobile phone number
Our Same Day Team consists of 2 doctors and up to 3 nurses each day. Patients requiring an appointment on the day will be offered a time to come to the surgery and will be seen by either a doctor or a nurse. If you would prefer to simply speak to a doctor, please let the receptionist know and she will arrange this for you.

The Same Day Service
The Same Day service is there to help you to get the medical attention you need — when you need it.
The Same Day service provides uncomplicated timely access which is available to all of our patients.
Patients are able to access the most clinically appropriate professional in a timely fashion
What is the Same Day Service?
The Same Day Service is for patients with a medical problem who need to speak to a clinician the same day.
If you have an urgent medical problem, please call on 023 80 333 778 or 023 80 335 158. Depending on the problem you may be given an appointment with a GP or Nurse at any of our three sites or you may be told to expect a telephone call from the doctor. The doctor will telephone you back to discuss your problem within the hour and arrange the best course of action. If you haven't been called back within 1.5 hours then please let us know.
When not to use the Same Day service ?
Statement of Fitness for Work (“Fit” or “sick notes”)
These are not required until after you have self-certificated for seven days. They can be backdated by several weeks if necessary. Return to work notes are no longer required. Renewals of existing statements can be dealt with during a telephone consultation or a routine appointment.
Repeat prescription requests
Repeat prescription requests take two full working days to complete. If, in exceptional circumstances, you require your prescription sooner, contact Reception and we will try to get it ready for the next day.
Requests for a letter or completion of a form
All requests will take some time to be completed by the Health Practitioner and may incur a charge.
What can I do if it is not urgent?
If you do not need to be seen the same day, you can book one of the following:
- a routine appointment with a Doctor or Nurse
- a routine telephone consultation with a Doctor
Do not forget that your local Pharmacist can help with advice on minor ailments and medication queries.

If you are not able to keep your appointment please call and cancel as soon as possible: someone else may need to see the doctor urgently.
