About St Marys and Mulberry Surgeries

St Marys and Mulberry are well established surgeries serving Southampton’s inner city and northern neighbourhoods. We are proud to serve some of the most vibrant and diverse communities in the South of England and neighbourhoods experiencing significant levels of deprivation and health inequalities.

We strive to deliver high quality care for the communities which we are part of. We work hard to match people’s individual needs to the right support. We prioritise continuity of care, particularly for people with more complex needs. We value our staff team and prioritise their wellbeing and development. We are a progressive organisation and continually work to improve the services we offer in collaboration with our communities and other local partner organisations. We have a reputation for leadership, ideas and innovation and have won awards and acclaim for our work.

Over the last year our St Marys and Mulberry surgery teams have been working increasingly closer and from April 2024 we completed our merger, now operating as a single practice with around 100 staff serving a population of circa 30k patients over 3 surgery sites. Since April 2024 we have also began working with our “sister” practice, Victor Street, and over the next 12 months we plan to come together as a single organisation serving around 40k patients and operating from 4 sites. We are excited about the prospects of these developments and the opportunities they will bring us to improve patient care and make us fit for the future. We are keen to gain the resilience and efficiency of being a bigger organisation, whilst also maintain a local “feel”, with patients benefiting from familiar local surgery teams and services tailored to their community.

We are currently led by five partners (one non-clinical) and a dedicated and experienced management team. We have a diverse clinical team and our GPs work closely with the support of our Advanced Practitioners, Pharmacists, Social Prescribers, GP assistants, Health Coaches and other healthcare professionals with a range of specific clinical interests. Our clinicians are supported by capable admin and reception teams delivering high quality signposting, efficient workflow management and a range of other key support functions.
